USDA Commodities

Biggs United Methodist Church is a distribution point for the USDA TEFAP program (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) or ‘Commodities.’ TEFAP is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income people by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost. USDA provides 100% American-grown USDA Foods.

Whether or not you are eligible to receive TEFAP foods depends on your household income level. Recipients self-certify that their income meets the income guidelines. This means that no documentation is necessary at the time of pick-up of food, the recipient merely signs that they meet the income guidelines. Income guidelines can be found HERE.

Distribution of ‘Commodities’ happens once a month on the second Tuesday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and again from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the evenings on those days.
